Next Generation of Coronavirus Vaccines Already in Trials

Operation Warp Speed is gone but not forgotten. In fact, it is still there, but with the title “The Operation.” The core operation established by President Trump is very much in place. For instance, the military still handles the logistics of shipping coronavirus vaccines around the U.S.

President Biden, though, has overlaid it with added structures and personnel.

Biden “took the best of what came out of the Trump administration and kept it,” said Michael Osterholm, a former member of Biden’s Covid-19 advisory board. “It was never a political discussion.”

And because politics stayed out of it, our country is now vaccinating three million people a day. It’s likely that the capability to vaccinate four million people a day will soon be here, too.

Now all we need is to convince those people who are vaccine-hesitant to get vaccinated.

The Big News

3 Million Vaccinations a Day in U.S.

For the first time, more than three million people, on average, are receiving coronavirus vaccines each day in the U.S. That’s according to data from the CDC. And on Saturday, the U.S. reported over four million doses in a single day for the first time. Nearly a third of the U.S. population has received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.

The Next Generation of Coronavirus Vaccines

A new type of coronavirus vaccines, NVD-HXP-S, uses a new molecular design that is widely expected to create more potent antibodies than the current generation of vaccines. It’s also cheaper and easier to make. The new vaccine can be mass-produced in chicken eggs — the same eggs that produce billions of influenza vaccines every year in factories globally.

The CDC Aids Cruise Liners

The CDC said cruise ships would NOT have to require coronavirus vaccines for passengers or staff when they restart operations. The new CDC recommendations include: increasing from weekly to daily the reporting of Covid-19 cases, implementing routine testing of all crew based on a ship’s Covid-19 status, making contractual arrangements with medical facilities on shore for passengers who may fall ill during a voyage.

CDC Says Risk of Infection From Surfaces Less Than One in 10,000

The CDC said in a report on Monday the relative risk of a person becoming infected with Covid-19 through contact with contaminated surfaces or objects “is considered low,” at a chance of less than one in 10,000. The main routes of infection remain direct contact with infected individuals or droplet or airborne transmission of the virus.

The Next Coronavirus Is Lurking

A research team in China has found 24 new bat coronaviruses within a 1.24-mile radius. None of these viruses appear to be a direct ancestor of the coronavirus that causes Covid. But they do reveal a range of genomic diversity that’s come as a shock to many scientists.

What’s Next

U.S. stock markets surged to fresh record highs on Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial average rose over 370 points to 33,527, a fresh all-time closing high. The S&P 500 rallied 1.4% to set a new record close at 4,077. The Nasdaq also managed to rise 1.7% but remains short of its February record.

Many European markets, such as Germany’s DAX, have also hit a fresh record high today.

What’s backing all these record highs is a strong economic rebound from the pandemic. Look at the latest U.S. data. . . . .

Friday’s payrolls report delivered a blowout gain of 916,000 jobs. The gauge of U.S.  services activity – the ISM non-manufacturing activity index – jumped to a record high in March (63.7).

So pent-up demand and a jobs boom are apparently there.

Very good news indeed. Maybe the people forecasting a Roaring 20s repeat (economic boom) are right. I just hope what followed isn’t repeated.

Meanwhile, a little-known secret called “The VC Code” is delivering huge gains for  billionaire investors . Click here for urgent details – and their next 443% winner.
