The Republican National Convention was planned for Charlotte, North Carolina.

However, party officials now say that the entire Republican National Convention may be relocated. That’s because the state of North Carolina has been unwilling to assure that the event will proceed

The Democrat governor has been hesitant to commit to a large gathering of people in August, due to the coronavirus.

The RNC is now looking at relocating the Republican National Convention to Las Vegas.

Goldman Sachs says that the unemployment rate is now at 21.7%. That’s the firm’s “real time” calculation of unemployment in America. The consensus estimate from economists is 19%.

Germany announced that it will lift its travel ban on European countries effective June 15. It will be replaced with travel advisories. This means the country will admit visitors from 29 European countries.

Unemployment in Europe Hits 7.3%

The unemployment rate in Europe ticked up from 7.1% in March to 7.3% in April. However, it was still down from 7.6% in April 2019. Many European countries have been paying businesses to keep employees rather than laying them off.
